After trying to delete Virus taskbar went grey, no sound, no networking, need help!!

Alright so here is what happened, my friend didnt have a anti-virus on her computer and she got some viruses, so I downloaded Avast on it because it has been reliable for me. But when I downloaded it the taskbar turned grey, and can not be switched back to the 3D XP style. This was after I rebooted after installing it. I then started to run the scan for viruses and left her place, she called me saying that her computer now has no sound what so ever, and her internet is not working. So I looked under audio properties it says there is no audio device, and under networking there is nothing like it has all been deleted. I have no idea what to do Ive never seen this happen before.

I noticed others with similar problems in this forum so I thought I would post with hope of getting this fixed quickly.

You said there was no anti-virus program on the computer but the HJT log clearly shows McAfee + Avast4 on there so there are actually TWO anti-virus programs running on the computer. You have to go in and Uninstall ONE of them for sure, immediately. Since she said she didn't have one then either the computer came with McAfee pre-installed, if this is a new computer, or she installed it and didn't realize it. It appears to be the full McAfee program on there so if she didn't know it was there then it probably hasn't been updated.
There are, by the looks of the log, multiple infections on the computer OR at least one which keeps "re-inventing" itself.
Take one of those av programs off of there.
If there is no internet access then you will have to find a way to get it either on line or download programs and take it to the computer via cd or something.
Try to boot to Safe Mode with networking and see if it can get online that way. If you can then download, install, update MBA-M
Then run a full system scan in NORMAL mode and have it remove all that it finds. Save the log and post it here.
First order of business however, is to get that extra av program OFF.

Both logs look ok. Java is out of date though.
Go to Start > Control Panel double-click on the Software icon > add/remove programs.
Search in the list for all previous installed versions of Java. (J2SE Runtime Environment.... )
Select it and click Remove.
Then Download and install the newest version from here:

Let's get rid of Combofix now that we are finished with it. Click START then RUN
Now type Combofix /u in the runbox and click OK. Note the space between the X and the U, it needs to be there.

Alright so did that and no change, I still have no internet and no sound..

Try re-installing the sound drivers in device manager.

That did not fix any of the problems and I have reinstalled the sound drivers and that has not done anything as well

Go to Start | Run and type in sfc /scannow and hit the Ok button. Insert your CD if/when requested.

Alright well thank you guys so much for helping me get rid of the viruses what I did was I upgraded her Windows XP with my XP home edition disk and it got the sound and network and everything back. I didnt even think of doing that until today. But thanks again for all your help

C:\WINDOWS\system32\svchost.exe
because that is the only odd one out that i have!
i have tried multiple times to delete it but it says that it cannot be deleted!
the only way to get ur computor back to normal at this point is to restart it but i cant keep doing this forever! please help!

Absolute fact. C:\WINDOWS\system32\svchost.exe is a legitimate Microsoft system file.

Delete it at your own risk!

C:\WINDOWS\system32\svchost.exe is quite legit and NOT a baddie. There is a reason you cannot delete it.

Now, malware will disguise itself as scvhost.exe. Usually misspelling (scvhost / svchosts / etc..) the .exe or placing it in a different directory.

But what you listed is legit and needed for Windows to operate properly.
