Laptop issues, mostly IE6, hjt log incl.

Hi guys!

I need help again. This time it is of utmost importance because I can't read Daniweb from my laptop!! :cry:

Ok let's take it from the top. I bought a new Toshiba laptop. M30 (33c) and I started installing a bunch of stuff on it because I had to. I was looking for a burning program to use the DVD burner as the computer didn't come with one. I ended up downloading a few crappy programs. I think I got rid of them. At the same time, I downloaded SP2 which seems to have messed up my XPH and Toshiba stuff pretty darn bad. I had a lot of problems I was able to fix except for the power saver feature. I can't download it from their site and I can't reinstall it. That whole part of it is a mess. Well, I also have problems with IE6 where now I can pull up parts of a web page, but I have to click "go" like 4-5 times to see the page. When I do get to the page, I see the bare basics. I don't see the Daniweb purple and the banners show a "page can not be displayed" problem. Basically, it takes me several tries to get it and then when I do, it's only half there. I couldn't even log in to Daniweb because when I hit submit somewhere, it takes me to a "page can not be displayed" page and nothing has been entered.

Anyway, I am not sure if it is the SP2 that caused the problem, or if it was the nasty junk I accidently downloaded off of my computer. I found some of them that was no good by using Hijack this, but I am not sure about the rest of the stuff listed here. Can you please verify the file and see if I missed anything...or lots of things? :o

Hi there. First of all you are running hijackthis from a temporary folder. The backups that hijackthis creates can be accidentally deleted when not in a permanent folder. Please do the following;

Click My Computer, then C:\
In the menu bar, File->New->Folder.
That will create a folder named New Folder, which you can rename to "HJT" or "HijackThis". Now you have C:\HJT\ folder. Put your HijackThis.exe there, and double click to run it.

Still in the Temp folder. Download the self extracting version from http://www.merijn.org/files/hijackthis_sfx.exe and post that log please.
