Pop-Up Problem; Microsoft Aps Slowed

Expand Post »
I need some advice. After viewing an adult site last week, I noticed that all my Microsoft applications are slow to respond. Also, I begin getting pop-ups for spy detection and virus detection programs. I have recently installed a DSL line and the firewall is activated. I regularly run Adware and Spybot.
Additionally, I have been using the Google Toolbar (which was catching all pop-ups).

Even when I do not have Outlook or IE engaged, I come home to find pop-up ads on my desktop.

Any suggestions?

Re: Pop-Up Problem; Microsoft Aps Slowed

There are many suggestions to give you. the most important of them is the suggestion that you thoroughly read the Stickied topics in our Viruses and Nasties section, and follow the relevent advice contained in them. You have some rather nasty intruders on your system. It's God's punishment to you for viewing those adult sites!

Luckily for you, the kind souls who assist people in that section will be able to offer you redemption!

What does this mean? Which items should I check off?
