Hello.... so recently I seemed to have attained some form of malware/virus that disallows me from running mbam (my go to guy ever since the fake antivirus background changer) or any other useful removal tools that I have installed. When I attempt to run any of these programs, the hour glass comes up as if the program is about to run, and then nothing happens (although task manager shows that the program is a running process). Naturally I went to the web and did some research and it seems many others have this same problem. A very common fix seems to be the program called combofix, but unfortunately for myself combofix claims to be too powerful for the likes of me, and requires the aid of someone who knows a thing or two... So here I am.
Hijack this still works fortunatly for me...so here is the log
I tried installing combofix to my desktop and changing its name, but I am unable to run it... and it gives me the mbam treatment (starts to load and then nothing happens)

Mmm... okay, go into safe mode, rename mbam.exe to boom.exe, try to run it there for a start.

Ok so after going into safe mode and renaming the .exe, mbam finally ran. After I did the quick scan and the computer restarted, my computer started acting up a bit and would freeze here and there, but I was eventually able to get to mbam, and I updated and performed another quick scan. Both logs are below, the second one is the most recent log.

Okay, please restart in Normal Mode, and run MBAM again. And this time:
ENSURE that EVERYTHING found has a CHECKMARK against it, then click Remove Selected.
If malware has been found [and removed] MBAM will automatically produce a log for you... do not click the Save Logfile button.
When it completes examine the log: if some files are listed as Delete on Reboot then restart your machine before continuing.
This way, I get to see the actions performed by MBAM on detected objects.

From your hijack log it looks like you've been infected with antivirpro2009. You can google on how to remove it, but for a start i would reboot into safe mode, open up your hosts file located at windows\system32\drivers\etc . When asked what to open it with choose notepad and delete these entrys if there :
209.44.111.57 alarm-monitor.microsoft.com
209.44.111.57 antivir2009pro.com
209.44.111.57 //www.antivir2009pro.com// (commenting out so users won't accidentally click that link, // won't be in your hosts file).
Then save the file and close
Disable system restore (right click my computer select the system restore tab and check disable system restore on all drives
Go to the run.. prompt from the start menu type in msconfig hit enter. go to the startup tab select selective startup, uncheck the entry relating to windows\system32\net.net
reboot computer.
This might remove it or help other programs run to remove it.
Hope this helps
http://vil.nai.com/vil/content/v_161260.htm link to Generic AdClicker.c!b9407b8e59ec
Reenable system restore.

It looks like it got removed, but I would check ur hosts file just to be safe. If the entries are still there it doesn't mean the virus is still there but I would delete them just to be safe.

Did you reboot the computer? No way of knowing if infection has been removed completely yet. You need to run a NEW HJT Full System scan and post that log.

Uh-oh, you are showing TWO anti-virus programs on the computer, Avira and McAfee. Absolute RULE only ONE anti-virus program should be running on a computer.
One of these must be completely UNINSTALLED ASAP. You choose. If you paid for McAfee you can leave it and uninstall Avira, however my personal choice would be keep Avira. But the choice is yours but absolutely one of these must go immediately.
Once you have done the Uninstall, reboot the computer.

Then update MBA-M and this time run a FULL Scan with it. Last one was only a Quick Scan, which, I am sorry to say, I failed to notice before. The rule to follow is if you are fairly certain you are infected then always run the Full Scan with the updated program. If you are just running a weekly scan then a Quick Scan is fine but if the Quick Scan finds something, Fix it and then immediately reboot, update the program and run the Full Scan.

MBA-M released a new version today so it is advisable that you update to this newest version and then do the Full Scan, be sure all items found are checked and then click Remove Selected. Reboot the computer.

Then run a new HJT scan and place check marks next to the following entries if they still show:
O15 - Trusted Zone: http://*.imlive.com

O16 - DPF: {D88C7675-7CEE-4C9A-BDD4-7A43EED7794D} (Logout Class) - http://www.tricksteronline.com/contr...tComponent.cab

O20 - Winlogon Notify: byXOhFyy - byXOhFyy.dll (file missing)

Once you have placed the check marks then click the Fix Checked button. Exit HJT.
Reboot the system.
Run and new HJT log and post back here with the new MBA-M log and the new HJT log.

As for the post by josmcc... im not sure if i still need to do that after running mbam... please let me know

for the moment don't worry about those instructions.

Ok so I uninstalled mcafee, ran mbam and hijack this and followed the instructions. It seems like one infection doesnt want to go away because after a few full system scans with mbam it kept coming back. Heres both logs, this mbam log was a quick check because this is the only file that is being found now.

Did you reboot the system immediately after the MBA-M scan?
You haven't updated MBA-M since the 17th. The new version of MBA-M was released on the 17th so it is now at version 1.38 and database version as of today is 2317.
You need to update to this newest version and database version and then run a FULL scan. Anytime something is found using the Quick Scan then the "rule of thumb" is to remove all that is found, REBOOT and then run a Full System scan. The Quick scan does not scan all files so there would be a chance that an infected file wasn't scanned during the Quick Scan.
After every MBA-M scan when something is found it also is always advisable to make it standard practice to Reboot. If you note the notation about the file found on your system is Delete on Reboot...meaning it cannot remove until the early stages of the rebooting process.

Try del /f /a ahrs ...

cd c:\windows\system32
del /f /a ahrs uacinit.dll
If that does not work, and assuming that it is not hidden [in an Explorer window, go Tools, Folder options, View and select Show hidden files and folders], then...
==This one is a general purpose deleter, Unlocker: http://filehippo.com/download_unlocker/
Dclick the exe to install it, unchecking the updater and assistant boxes. It runs from the rclick context menu, and that is cool.
-browse to uacinit.dll, rclick it, unlock it if needs be, and delete it.
Thinking about it more, there must be other related files there which restore/protect it.
==Download this file to your DESKTOP: http://download.bleepingcomputer.com/sUBs/ComboFix.exe
.....or this file: http://subs.geekstogo.com/ComboFix.exe
-IMPORTANT! : disconnect from the web, turn off your Antivirus, Antispyware and Firewall for the duration of this scan. Don't forget to reset them before you go back on the web!
- to run it dclick the Combofix.exe icon and follow the prompts to start it. When finished, it will produce a log, C:\Combofix.txt - post that log in your next reply.
A word of caution - do not touch your mouse/keyboard until the scan has completed. The scan will temporarily disable your desktop, and if interrupted may leave your desktop disabled. If this occurs reboot to restore the desktop.
