Recently I have aquired something on my computer that is making it run at super snail speed. I can't run a program without my computer shutting down. It has taken 30 min. to load this page and start a thread. I have done an Anti-Spyware, Anti-Virus, Malwarebytes, and HijackThis. In my task manager there are mutiple svchost.exe processes running and the system process is very large. The logs to Malwarebytes and HijackThis are posted below. Please help me if you can. I would appreciate it greatly!

Justin

I did those steps, spent $40 on the software and it fixed it temporarily. After restarting my computer, it was back at 100% CPU usage in no time. I ran the program again and it found more infections. Should I keep running it again and again until no problems are found or should I get some other software? When I bought the program, it came with a couple of other software programs but I haven't tried them yet. Are they useful in this situation?

I have no idea what you are talking about. What software did you purchase? I asked only for you to do a scan and post the results back here. Nothing more.

What process is using the 100% .. Alot of times the svchost.exe uses up alot. You can go into your Services and disable each process that uses the svchost.exe one at a time and test ... I have ran into this issue a few times.

I purchased RegCure because I had close to 1200 errors. After I ran it again these are the results:
COM/Active X : 19 errors
Windows Startup Items: 1 error
Path File Reference: 17 errors
Empty Registry Items: 176 errors
Program Shortcuts: 22 errors

All were cleaned...since I bought it.

Hold on a second... there was a post in here earlier that said do these 4 easy steps and everything should be cleaned? I know I'm not loosing it. I must have done something else to bring that up, or the post was deleted. I just tried to do a search for pushow.dll and nothing was found.

The post was a google ad, I think. SOB...oh well it has done a lot of cleaning of my computer, but it's really not running much faster. Is there anything else I can do? FYI I searched the right file pushow4.dll and there was nothing. Right now I currently have 8 svchost.exe processes running.

Please download ComboFix by sUBs from HERE or HERE

  • You must download it to and run it from your Desktop
  • Physically disconnect from the internet.
  • Now STOP all your monitoring programs (Antivirus/Antispyware, Guards and Shields) as they could easily interfere with ComboFix.
  • Double click combofix.exe & follow the prompts.
  • When finished, it will produce a log. Please save that log to post in your next reply along with a fresh HJT log
  • Re-enable all the programs that were disabled during the running of ComboFix..

Note:
Do not mouse-click combofix's window while it is running. That may cause it to stall.

CF disconnects your machine from the internet. The connection is automatically restored before CF completes its run. If CF runs into difficulty and terminates prematurely, the connection can be manually restored by restarting your machine.

Run Combofix ONCE only!!

That removed a bit. How is the pc now?
I will have a closer look when I get home from work in about 8 hours.

It still spikes and has a lot of svchost processes, not really that much better but some. When I did the ComboFix and HJT I totally removed my AVG anti-virus because I found no other way to comply with the prompts before ComboFix started because it said that I had an active scanner and it might effect the process of running the program. After I ran the programs I re-installed AVG free from their website. Would this be any cause to the problem?

It is normal to have several svchosts running.

Please Run the ESET Online Scanner and post the ScanLog with your post for assistance.

  • You will need to use Internet Explorer to complete this scan.
  • You will need to temporarily Disable your current Anti-virus program.
  • Be sure the option to Remove found threats is Un-checked at this time (we may have it clean what it finds at a later time), and the option to Scan unwanted applications is Checked.
  • When you have completed that scan, a scanlog ought to have been created and located at C:\Program Files\EsetOnlineScanner\log.txt. Please post that log for us as directed below.

NOTE: If you are unable to complete the ESET scan, please try another from the list below:

Kaspersky Online Scanner Panda Active Scan Trend Micro HouseCall F-Secure Online Virus Scanner

I disabled my anti-virus and ran the ESET scan with the right settings. It didn't find anything.

It may be a legit program causing this, who knows?
Can try another online scan though, but I am getting doubtful.

Try running the Kaspersky scan and see what it finds.

ok this scanner found 1 infection and this is the report. can i get rid of it with my anti-virus or something else? or does kaspersky clean it?

well I guess that's all I can do. I guess this computer is just getting old and it can't run as many processes as I would like. It just seems that I was running the same amount of programs more than a year ago and it was much faster. Thanks for your assistance, I really appreciate it.
