Your log has a few "loose ends" in it, but nothing that looks like it would be the culprit. You are running a slightly older version of HijackThis, though. Just to be on the safe side, please download the latest version (1.99.1), run it, and post the log it generates.

The last time you had this problem, it was due to malicious infections if I recall correctly, but that might not be the case time. There are non-malicious causes of login problems with hotmail, msn, etc. accounts; some of the related threads in the following link have suggestions you might want to try:

1. Uninstall P2P networking; it is an adware/spyware threat.
If you are using an older version of GetRight, there's a good chance that it contains adware as well. GetRight stopped bundling adware in their new versions, so you should upgrade if necessary.

I downloaded the new getright version and removed P2P Networking. I fixed the problems on HJT as you suggested but i still cannot access Hotmail or Uni homepage.

I have removed P2P networking off of my computer and have ran spybot to search for any spyware, non was found.

I really do not know what to do now.

I don't see any problems in your log; the link DMR gave you doesn't work for me so I'm not sure what you've tried already. Is it possible this is due to a firewall or other security setting?

The firewall has been turned off so this cannot be the cause of the problem, thanks for hte suggestion. I have deleted some maliscious P2p packages form my pc so they cannot be causing the problem.

I dont really know where to go from here

This problem does not only occur with hotmail, it will not let me sign in to ebay, amazon or search for theatre tickets. It seems that the problem is only effecting secure sites??

I have just run 'msconfig' and adapted how windows starts up. I then tried to open all of the websites i have had problems with and they all work now. Im not sure what this has to do with the problem but hey it all works now!!

I just ran msconfig on my pc and restarted, after that all of the problem websites worked fine. I am not sure what that has to do with the problem but it all wokrs now.

Can you tell us exactly what modifications you made with msconfig please? That info would be helpful to us, and also to other members who be having problems similar to yours.

Well it seems that this did not sort the problem becuase hotmail etc does not work again. I just stopped all of the items that were loading during startup. Then when i loaded windows after restart a dialogue box came up asking about the new configurations.

Now the problem has occured again.
