XP Desktop does not load - HijackThis logfile

I would really appreciate your eyes on my problem. I can only access programs and files using Task Manager.
I ran SpyBot, Microsoft AntiSpyware, and Adware Filter anti-spy programs today. I can't get Microsoft AntiSpyware or Adware Filter to work now - but I ran SpyBot just before this logfile was created.
I can't get McAfee to run from task manager either.

Hi atsand, welcome to DaniWeb

Have you tried using System Restore to return your computer to a state prior to when you started having problems? If not, try that first.

You should put hijackthis into it's own folder; to do this, right-click in an open area of your desktop, select New, Folder. Give the new folder a name, like HJT or HijackThis, and then drag the hijackthis.exe icon that is on your desktop into this new folder.

Please post a new log after you've done the above.

Thanks for the quick response!
I can only navigate using DOS and Task Manager. I cannot right click or work in a desktop mode.
I did create a folder inside the desktop folder and moved HijackThis in there.
I also did a system restore by pressing F8 while booting up and selecting the option for the last known good restore point.

The system restore did not work for me.

I ran the Hijackthis log again and here is the result:

Try an in-place upgrade (aka repair installation); instructions can be found here:

(Hopefully you got a Recovery CD from eMachines that will allow you to do this)
