New Laptop .... Browser keeps opening

Expand Post »
Hello, Thank you for answering my message in advance. I am having a terrible time with a new laptop I have gotten. Even from the beginning (Opening it up from the box) it has had this problem where it will open up numerous explorer windows(or firefox ... or will actually try to connect through the internet through any window..ex... my computer, my documents...etc). Now when it does this, it just opens up any page that I have set as my homepage. I opens them... sometimes 5, sometimes 50.

I had sent the laptop back and had it tested and it came back fine.... after erasing my hard drive and reinstalling everything. They had thought it was a virus, but found no evidence of one.

I then searched the internet for any other people who have this problem, and so far no luck. I also have gone through numerous procedures for trying to get rid of spyware, malware, trojans... pretty much eveything on this site.

The only advance I have made, is knowing that they have not popped up when I run just off of the battery.... is this a voltage problem? Can browsers pop up if the current is not regular... maybe a faulty cable, i'm not sure. Anyways, If it is a Virus, I was hoping it could be detected by one of you professionals. That is why i've also included a Hijack This log to this message.

Thank you in advance for your advice and your response... this problem isn't life threatening, but it is a pain in the @** to have to close browsers that keep popping up... it's like a sick computer like whack-a-mole game.

Thanks

Jeff

Re: New Laptop .... Browser keeps opening

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE CAN SOMEBODY HELP ME! I'm sorry, this is the most annoying problem I have ever faced. When plugged in, the browser magically decided when it wants to open itself back up. I only pops up to my homepage that I have designated, not any other site. And it will also decide how many of itself It would like to open. Sometimes it will go on for about 10 minutes opening new browsers, sometimes it just opens 1. The only time it behaves is when I switch to battery power. ANY SUGGESTIONS WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED!!!!!!!!!!!! Thank you very much, Take Care.
