Expand Post »
This is my first posting in teh hope that someone can help.

Norton AV gave me a warning of a virus infection Trojan.Vundo at windows\system32\JKKLK.DLL it could not fix it, quarantene it or delete it (still can't) .

I have:
1. run full scan found it but cant fix it/quat/del
2. in safe mode i have lost all the icons and tool bar so no joy, but ran full scan in safe mode with network found it but can't fix/quat/del.
3. downloaded FXVundo.exe and FXVundoB.exe AND just to be on the safe side FXMonde.exe. ran all in full mode and safe mode and all can not fix/quat/del

and I still have the NAV warning that i have the virus, system running at the speed of a constipated snail, at least spyware Doctor has stopped me being redirect to web sites I do not want to go to.

Can any one help? Please

Re: Norton AV, Trojan.Vundo - can not fix/delete

Hi,
Vundo filenames vary from one PC to other. We have to use HijackThis to trace the filename of Vundo trojan.
Download HijackThis and unzip it to dedicated folder (like C:\HijackThisFolder\hijackthis.exe).
Then run it and click the button Do a System scan and save log file. HijackThis will perform a scan and saves the log file as hijackthis.log in the same folder where it is installed and it also opens the file automatically. Copy the entire contents of the file and post it here.

Re: Norton AV, Trojan.Vundo - can not fix/delete

Hi Frankie
Thanks for the reply, a friend downloaded what seems to be a different version of the FxVundo.exe fix from symantec, ran that and it cleared it. so all seems fine now. but I will download hijackthis.exe just in case.

Hi Norman, i noticed that you mentioned a certain version of the FixVundo.exe working for you in an old post. Do you still happen to have that available? I'm having trouble with a Vundo Trojan, and the Infostealer and WinVirus spyware at the moment.

Thanks for you time.
