For mp04279: Hijackthis log - Cannot update windows

Just formatted the HD & reinstalled WinXP Pro. I then installed AVG, SpyBot & Ad-ware. I was able to download & install multiple security updates. But now I am unable to perform a Windows Update. I'm being asked to do a Genuine Windows Validation, I click on [continue] and then get the following: 'Page Cannot Be Displayed' error.

I'm also experiencing problems getting to yahoo.com using IE6. Any assistance would be appreciated.

Are you absolutely sure that the load of XP that you installed is legal?
