Re: i got a virus called IEPlugin! how do i manually remove it?

Can you please do the following.

===============

Scan with HiJackThis, then check(tick) the following, if present:

O4 - Global Startup: Microsoft Works Calendar Reminders.lnk = ?

O23 - Service: Microsoft Windows Updates (Microsoft Windows Update) - Unknown owner - C:\WINDOWS\svshost.exe (file missing)

Now, close all instances of Internet Explorer and any other windows you have open except HiJackThis, click "Fix checked".

===============

After rebooting, rescan with hijackthis and check that the 023 line has gone. If it is still there, do the following;
Set a system restore point.

Start>>Run and type regedit
Press enter.
Navigate to:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Microsoft Windows Updates (Microsoft Windows Update)

If Microsoft Windows Updates (Microsoft Windows Update) exists , right click on it and choose delete from the menu.

Now navigate to:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Enum\Root\LEGACY_Microsoft Windows Updates (Microsoft Windows Update)

If LEGACY_Microsoft Windows Updates (Microsoft Windows Update) exists then right click on it and choose delete from the menu.

Reboot and check for that line again. If gone, post a final hijackthis log please.
