I cannot load My Computer, Windows Explorer or Control Panel. I can open directories from within word processors. Have not tried all applications. We have been installing a new video card ATI Radeon 9250 128MB. The problems seem to have started after installing it. I took it out. Problems went away. Now problems occuring without video card in.
I have had CPU heating problems on and off. (Asus A7V400-MX Sempron 2200+, 512MB ram (2Gb max.) I have Win XP Home. I am using a new 200Gb HD I installed as F: The slave drive C: still has windows loaded so have dual boot situation. F: drive will not load if C: not connected: needs NTLDR.
Recent Changes:
We installed video card above. I installed Zone Alarm basic and Spybot Search and Destroy. I had Norton System Works loaded. Norton repeatedly has identified WinFix as a virus and removed it. Keeps coming back.
No one has posted to this discussion for at least three months.
