losing programs - HELP!

There has to be someone out there who can help.

I have been losing programs on my computer recently. I would use the program. when I was done at the end of the day, turn off the computer, and the next day when I turned the computer back on, my program is MISSING! I even lost MS word. Everything was loading in wordpad! UGH!!! I have searched throughout the computer - sometimes I find them, sometimes I have to reload the program altogether. Now I have several pages on the net that won't even load - I keep getting error messages.I have done everything I can think of: scan disc, defrag, virus scan - several different kids, no virus found - pop up blocker, spyware scan, etc. I am at my wits end. Where are these programs going and what is causing this to happen? This is a brand new dell that I just got a couple of months ago. I have never had this problem before and never heard of anyone having this problem. CAN ANYONE TELL ME WHATS GOING ON? and please help me solve this problem? I did a hijackthis - there are some programs on my computer that I do not use anymore and are safe to delete - google toolbar, mcafee, - but should I delete them? here is the log:

C:\DOCUME~1\Lisa\LOCALS~1\Temp\Temporary Directory 1 for hijackthis.zip\HijackThis.exe
You are running HJT out of a temporary folder. Move it to a permanent folder on your desktop or something like C:\HJT\


Now Please download and install ewido anti-spyware tool
  • Close all other Applications Select language click Ok
  • Click I Agree
  • Click next
  • Click Install
  • Click Finish
  • Wait Ewido will open main screen automatically.
  • Wait again a few minutes and Ewido Should Auto update itself. If it doesn't click update at top of screen.
  • This in very important to get updates
  • When updating has finished. Close Ewido.
If you have an "always on" connection to the internet, physically disconnect that connection until you are finished with Safe Mode and have rebooted back into normal mode.
  • Next, please reboot your computer in Safe Mode by doing the following:
  • Restart your computer
  • After hearing your computer beep once during startup, but before the Windows icon appears, press F8.
  • Instead of Windows loading as normal, a menu should appear use arrow up to highlight
  • Select the first option, to run Windows in Safe Mode hit enter.
  • For additional help in booting into Safe Mode, see the following site: HERE

    You MUST manage to get into Safe Mode for the fix to work.
Make sure to close all open windows/programs/folders. Have nothing else open while ewido performs its scan!
  • Open Ewido
  • Click on scanner top of Ewido sceen
  • Click on Settings
  • Under How to Act click on Recommended Action choose Quarantine
  • Under How to scan all boxes should be selected
  • Under Possibly unwanted software all boxes should be selected
  • On right side under Reports: click on Automatically generate report after every scan.
  • Under What to scan select scan every file
  • Click On scan Tab
  • Click on Complete system scan
  • Let the program scan the machine It can take awhile give it time.
  • When scan has finished At bottom of screen click Apply all Actions
  • Click Save report
  • Click Save Report as (Save as window's screen should pop up.)
  • Click desktop
  • Click Save
  • Exit ewido
Reboot back to normal mode

Now with HJT in the permanent Directory run another scan and post the new HJT log here along with the Ewido log.

Nope still clean. Are you sure that the certain programs were not being erased by someone with access to the computer? It may also be a computer joke so check the program files folder on your compuer. I have never heard of a virus or malware that uninstalls random programs ecspecially ones like Microsoft Word which is why i think someone else may be doing it.
