Weird Keyboard Virus/problem

Expand Post »
Hi, I've searched all over for an answer to this but I don't even know where to start. On my laptop, when I press certain keys, ten more letters randomly appear on the screen. Like when I type "r," "aldksghei" shows up or something like that. I haven't spilled anything on the keyboard or had any other technical problems. I can't get into the desktop because it won't let me type my password to get onto the computer, so I don't even know how to investigate this any further. I'm using my desktop now. Is this a technical problem or a virus? The laptop is a year old and it was fine yesterday. Please help.

Re: Weird Keyboard Virus/problem

Does this also happen if you startup from a boot disc?
If so, it is probably an actual problem with your keyboard. In that case, I'd suggest taking your laptop along to your service tech.
Otherwise, what is the actual model of laptop you are using?
