Explorer keeps crashing

Expand Post »
Hi there!

I'm having serious issues here. Explorer keeps crashing whenever I try to access anything in it - example, my documents. I can see the files for about a good 15 seconds before it crashes, and then I lose the start menu, taskbar, and things on my desktop for a few seconds before they reappear, albeit with the explorer windows gone.

I have scanned with AVG, Adaware, Spybot, and installed Spysweeper though I was upset it didn't tell me I had to pay until AFTER it scanned... I did this in safe mode as well. Somewhere on another site I read about shutting off third-party extensions in Explorer, which I did as well.

Keep in mind this is just Windows Explorer, Internet Explorer is still working just fine and dandy.

I'm new at Hijackthis so I don't know what to do further... any assistance would be really appreciated. I'm at a complete loss here... Thanks!
