Problems uninstalling McAfee

I am trying to uninstall my old version of McAfee so I can install Norton Antivirus 2004. Each time I go into my control panel and to the Add/Remove Programs and click on McAfee and then click to Add/Remove, it does nothing. I can't even close that window after I do that, and it never uninstalls. Anyone know what the problem might be? I've been having other problems with that win min error message upon shut down and all that.....could it be related, or is it possibly something else? Thanks!

Please stay with your other thread for the time being until that problem is resolved, then if you are still experiencing problems we can try something else. You are currently infected with Coolwebsearch so that will need to go first.
