bridge.dll error - HJT log created - can you help?

Expand Post »
Howdy, I've scoured the bridge.dll postings to see if I could remedy my problem myself. However, I can see that the HiJackThis (HTJ) software needs a techie to interpret. I am getting "error loading... bridge.dll... specified module could not be found" message. This started after I ran the Ad-Aware 6.0 software.
The Ad-Aware software deleted this bridge.dll file (is that a good thing or a bad thing, and what is the bridge.dll file used for?)
I downloaded HJT after reading the other postings on this site, ran the program, and I've included the file results.
Can someone please look at this, and tell me which entries to delete?
I would certainly appreciate it.

Thank you,

Dallas Morris

Re: bridge.dll error - HJT log created - can you help?

Hi & welcome. Your main problem is that your system is in serious need of updating.
Close all (browser) windows & rescan with hijackthis. When the scan is finished place a check in the box to the left of the following entries & click 'fix checked' :

F2 - REG:system.ini: UserInit=C:\Windows\System32\wsaupdater.exe,

O2 - BHO: (no name) - {0000607D-D204-42C7-8E46-216055BF9918} - (no file)

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [RunDLL] rundll32.exe "C:\WINDOWS\Downloaded Program Files\bridge.dll",Load
