Shuts Down Problem

Hello i am new here i like the site.Well i have a problem my computer happens to reboot alot.i am running windows 2000 pro.it reboots when i try to download things or install or some times it just reboots.it shows a blue screen with numbers or letters but it shows it fast i can't even read it.any one that can help that would be great.

You need to ensure that your system is virus free. Several recent viruses will cause continual restarts.

Viruses like Blaster and Sasser are able to do annoying things like that. Try using the programs that are in this thread


And follow these instructions (if you have enought time) to try and get rid of blaster click here

If it's a bluescreen popping up, what is the 0x######## code that appears next to STOP, at the bottom of the screen?

when it does show it try to use a camera or somthing to get the number because somtimes it doesnt always stay up long enough to get the number written down. With that number you can get support at microsoft.com i believe. but if its just going black you are definately going to need to check out a virus scanner and some form of adware/spyware protection.

I try McAfee Scan for Viruses & Norton Antivirus nothing came up.spybot & ad-awaer did find thing i delete them.i havent seen the blue screen in a while with the numbers.i hjt here is the log.

seems fine to me, maybe some of the software or hardware are having compatibility problems??
