Only then, start hijackthis, select Scan Only, place checkmarks against all the entries listed below that still exist, and then press Fix Checked.

Finally, get an antivirus.... the sigh was because you are just begging for this type of hit without it.
AVG FRE, Avast, Avira, AVG AS 7.5, Spywareblaster, ZoneAlarm Free, Kerio; there are others - I use AVG fre[7], AVG AS, Spywareblaster and Zonealarm.

The sigh is understandable and thank you for your help. I didn't realize I didn't have an AV on this machine until yesterday. I recently changed companies to a very small firm from a large one that pushed AV to the machines. So, I'm now having to do even the most basic IT type stuff myself.

I deleted what you stated. Except some of the files were no longer there since I dl'd and used AVG (I think)

Here is the new log. I'm still getting these pop ups though as I type this. I'm going to try a restart now.

have you run a scan with Lavasofts Adaware? It looks for that kind of stuff.

Yes. It turned out to be a virus. It was blocking updates to adaware and others. It is gone now. I'm just glad it didn't corrupt anything. Thanks for the help!
