about:blank hijacked, solutions offered not working

I've looked at the solutions offered in this forum on how to remove the about:blank hijack, I downloaded APM too but I couldn't find the weird .dll that everyone's talking about. Either the solutions aren't relevant to my HJT log, or they just don't work.
As you know, removing the suspicious looking stuff in HJT only works til the next reboot of my PC. I would be VERY grateful if someone could help me out.

Hi. First of all you need to update hijackthis to version 1.98.1. Run hijackthis & go to *Config\Misc Tools\Check for update on-line*. Remove 1.97 from the folder it is in & replace it with 1.98.1.

Uninstall messenger plus as it comes with LOP. It can be re-installed without the sponsor.
First of all could you click Start>Settings>Control Panel>Add or Remove Programs and uninstall 'Window Search', 'Window Searching', 'Lop.com', 'LOP SEARCH', 'Browser Enhancer', or 'Ultimate Browser Enhancer' if listed. You may be given a code to insert, do so and reboot when done. If not listed there, run this uninstaller:

Reboot into safe mode following the instructions here & close all (browser) windows & rescan with hijackthis. When the scan is finished place a check in the box to the left of the following entries & click 'fix checked':

Sorry, it might take a bit for me to post again because I need my brother to get back to me about the Admin password that I need to get into Safe Mode.
Also, I tried updating HJT but it can't connect to the site. I tried getting to www.spywareinfo.com to download it manually but the site isn't responding either.
