Re: Security Alert: Spyware found

Hi and welcome to Daniweb forums .

Please download SmitfraudFix (by S!Ri)
Extract the content (a folder named SmitfraudFix) to your Desktop.

Open the SmitfraudFix folder and double-click smitfraudfix.cmd
Select option #1 - Search by typing 1 and press "Enter"; a text file will appear, which lists infected files (if present).
Please copy/paste the content of that report into your next reply.

Note : process.exe is detected by some antivirus programs (AntiVir, Dr.Web, Kaspersky) as a "RiskTool"; it is not a virus, but a program used to stop system processes. Antivirus programs cannot distinguish between "good" and "malicious" use of such programs, therefore they may alert the user.

Re: Security Alert: Spyware found

Thanks Crunchie.

Here is the Smitfraudfix log. Note that since my original post I have run Spybot S&D which got rid of a lot of stuff. I also installed AVG which got rid of one more thing.

Note also that I have BOTH Symantec and AVG installed because my "add and remove programs" folder no longer has the buttons to remove programs. It also does not semm to provide a complete list of programs anymore (virus or some good files got removed as I was cleaning up.??). I am going to try and find my XP Pro disk and repair it and try to remove Symantec again.

Anyway, here is the log:

Re: Security Alert: Spyware found

Smitfraud log looks ok so please do this from your hijackthis log;

Can you please do the following.

===============

Go to Add/Remove programs and uninstall the following, if present:

180 Solutions

The above could appear anywhere within the entry. Be careful not to remove any personal or system software.

===============

Scan with HijackThis and then place a check next to all the following, if present:

R0 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Start Page = about:blank

O3 - Toolbar: Security Toolbar - {11A69AE4-FBED-4832-A2BF-45AF82825583} - C:\WINDOWS\system32\zjfsxfnk.dll

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [sais] c:\program files\180solutions\sais.exe
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [90041355] rundll32.exe "C:\WINDOWS\system32\qkmprxen.dll",b

O16 - DPF: {288C5F13-7E52-4ADA-A32E-F5BF9D125F99} (CR64Loader Object) - http://www.miniclip.com/supergerball...GameLoader.dll
O16 - DPF: {EE2589EB-7FC8-44DB-A892-573F2C4B41E0} - http://pdf.forbes.com/forbesnews/tri...aderSigned.cab

O23 - Service: DomainService - Unknown owner - C:\WINDOWS\system32\ysjxwhwo.exe (file missing)

Now, close all instances of Internet Explorer and any other windows you have open except HiJackThis, click "Fix checked".

===============

Locate and delete the following item(s), if present. Make sure you are able to view system and hidden files/ folders:

folders...

c:\program files\180solutions

files...

C:\WINDOWS\system32\zjfsxfnk.dll
C:\WINDOWS\system32\qkmprxen.dll

-

Note that some of these file(s)/folder(s) may or may not be present. If present, and cannot be deleted because they're 'in use', try deleting them in Safe Mode by doing the following:
  • Restart your computer
  • After hearing your computer beep once during startup, but before the Windows icon appears, press F8.
  • Instead of Windows loading as normal, a menu should appear.
Select the first option to run Windows in Safe Mode hit enter.

-

Reboot.

===============

To help protect your system from hostile ActiveX content, or special 'downloadable' files:

Download, install and keep updated, SpywareBlaster. If you've installed it for the first time:

1) Check for any available updates; if present, they'll be automatically downloaded and installed.
2) Next, "Enable all protection".
3) Exit the program.

-

Note: Remember to regularly check for updates.

===============

After rebooting, rescan with hijackthis and post back a new log. Please let me know how your pc is now.
