Please download this file - combofix.exe by sUBs

• Save it to your Desktop
• Now physically disconnect from the internet and STOP all your monitoring programs (Antivirus/Antispyware, Guards and Shields)
• Click on your START button and choose Run. Then copy/paste the entire content of the following quotebox (Including the "" marks and the Symbols) into the run box.
  
  

  "%userprofile%\desktop\ComboFix.exe" /KillAll

  
  

• Click OK and this will start ComboFix in a special way.
• When finished, it will produce a log. Please save that log to a Notepad File to post in your next reply along with a fresh HJT log.

Note:
Do not mouse-click combofix's window while it is running. That may cause it to stall.

* After you have saved the logs, restart your system to re-enable all the programs that were disabled during the running of ComboFix.

* Reconnect to the internet

* Post the following logs/Reports:

By the way, I noticed after I posted the logs that I still have a Security Toolbar 7.1 that I first noticed with all these other problems. And I'm noticing that my entire system seems to be running a little slower than usual. Just in case these are issues over and above what the logs show.

The problems here are getting a lot worse. After I ran the original ComboFix scan, several things were deleted and my system was working better, not perfect, but better. I noticed about half an hour later that the Live Safety Center and Online Security Guide icons were back on the desktop and the system was running slow again. I ran ComboFix a second time, again it cleared it up for about half an hour or forty five minutes. The offending malware is back again. When these things are up, it makes it nearly impossible to do anything online (such as checking for posts here). I am getting a lot of System Notifications of Malware and Spyware and Viruses of a variety of types. I am afraid that if these problems don't go away soon I may need to format the HD and reload everything from scratch (and that will be a lot of lost files). Please Help !!!!

Extract the content (a folder named SmitfraudFix) to your Desktop.

Open the SmitfraudFix folder and double-click smitfraudfix.cmd
Select option #1 - Search by typing 1 and press "Enter"; a text file will appear, which lists infected files (if present).
Please copy/paste the content of that report into your next reply.

Note : process.exe is detected by some antivirus programs (AntiVir, Dr.Web, Kaspersky) as a "RiskTool"; it is not a virus, but a program used to stop system processes. Antivirus programs cannot distinguish between "good" and "malicious" use of such programs, therefore they may alert the user.

You should print out these instructions, or copy them to a Notepad file for reading while in Safe Mode, because you will not be able to connect to the Internet to read from this site.

Please reboot your computer in Safe Mode by doing the following :

• Restart your computer
• After hearing your computer beep once during startup, but before the Windows icon appears, tap the F8 key continually;
• Instead of Windows loading as normal, a menu with options should appear;
• Select the first option, to run Windows in Safe Mode, then press "Enter".
• Choose your usual account.

Once in Safe Mode, open the SmitfraudFix folder again and double-click smitfraudfix.cmd
Select option #2 - Clean by typing 2 and press "Enter" to delete infected files.

You will be prompted : "Registry cleaning - Do you want to clean the registry ?"; answer "Yes" by typing Y and press "Enter" in order to remove the Desktop background and clean registry keys associated with the infection.

The tool will now check if wininet.dll is infected. You may be prompted to replace the infected file (if found); answer "Yes" by typing Y and press "Enter".

The tool may need to restart your computer to finish the cleaning process; if it doesn't, please restart anyway into normal Windows. A text file will appear onscreen, with results from the cleaning process; please copy/paste the content of that report into your next reply along with a new HijackThis log.
The report can also be found at the root of the system drive, usually at C:\rapport.txt

Warning : running option #2 on a non infected computer will remove your Desktop background.

Not sure if this is important, but the Live Safety Center link, Online Security Guide link, Security toolbar, security alerts, etc. seem to get temporarily cleared up after running ComboFix. After running this most recent SmitFraud cleaning (log is copied below), the all came back when I rebooted.

Ok, I've run everything that you previously posted. One thing to note: None of the entries that were indicated for deletion from the HiJackThis log which contained the tekyjnll.dll tag (3 items total) were in the HJT log after running the vundofix. I have to assume this is normal.

Can you please do the following.

Can you disable Windows Defender as it may interfere with the removal process. Please leave it disabled until your PC has been given the all clear.

• Open Windows Defender
• Click Tools
• Click General Settings
• Scroll down to Real Time Protection Options
• Uncheck Turn on Real Time Protection (recommended)
• After you uncheck this, click on the Save button
• Close Windows Defender
