I got rid of too much; No IE Search Tool

Expand Post »
I was trying to clean up all the trojan and hijacking files on my system and I also got rid of whatever file IE uses to bring up the Search Tool. When I click on the Search icon in the Menu Bar, I either get a blank search column or one that says 'Action Cancelled IE was unable to the web page you requested'.
I'm on an XP machine, using IE6. how do I restore that file?

btw.. I did finally clean up everything; now I'd just like to be able to search from the Search Tool again.

thanks!

Use System Restore to reset your system back to a date prior to when this problem started.

You will probably have to 'clean' it up again, just use more caution when doing so (or get assistance by starting a new thread in the Virus forum).
