IE 6 won't open links

I have a problem where by I open an IE page, and about 4-5 links later, IE refuses to open any more links. The pages open in the same window for the first few links, and then freezes. Any ideas. Thanks.

no, no error no nothing -- it sits, unresponsive, yet the app is still active and running

This is the kind of behavior one typically sees when Windows 98 or Me run out of resources. Which OS are you running?

I am running 2000 and IE 6. Links don't open, much like clicking on plain words -- after a opening a few links.
