"Upgrading" Hotmail?

Expand Post »
I wouldn't have thought this was the best forum for this question, but I saw another Hotmail question here.

I'm being bombarding with Hotmail e-mails urging me to upgrade to their Live beta. However, it looks as though it involves downloading something ("click here to download") to my computer.

Excuse the simple-minded question, but does that mean that the e-mail account will then be tied to that specific computer, rather than being web-based? Because I don't have my own home computer, but use a variety of work computers.

Thanks for any explanations.

Re: "Upgrading" Hotmail?

I myself do not use hotmail, but as far as I know they do not have any upgrades that require you to download anything. Be wary, this sounds like someone attempting to lure hotmail users into downloading malicious software!

My recommendation: DO NOT UPGRADE.
