Can't open more than window in Internet Explorer

Hi,
problem has only started today after my profile on Windows 2000 was corrupted after Windows was not shut down properly.I then added a new user profile and reinstalled Internet Explorer 6 but the problem is continuing.I tried checking regedit to see if 'AllowWindowReuse' was not at 0 but it is and the problem is still on going.Can anybody give any help ,please, and how to sort this very annoying problem out?
