Error message when starting Internet Explorer

Expand Post »
Hello, I have Win 98 and IE 6. I am having with error 404 . I sign on with my dial up provider icon and it shows I am connected, but only 313 bytes received and 414 bytes sent. I called my provider and they said it shows I signed on but it disconnected. I checked the dial up connection, and reinstalled my modem and it is working. I ran system tools system check, reg check, internet explorer repair and even reinstalled win 98 but I still cannot get on to internet. Is my IE corrupt? How do I uninstall IE and replace files. I am unable to delete from the add/remove programs. I will try anything. Thanks for your help. Lyndymarie

Re: Error message when starting Internet Explorer

you may be running the wrong PPP, change the server type in properties under dial-up networking, not networks.
