Computer Freezes on desktop

Expand Post »
After a while, it has booted up. I log on and then the computer freezes. I can't do anything. CTRL ALT DEL takes forever to come up and when it does it just freezes as well..

Any ideas on how to fix this?

I assume Windows 98?

Does it freeze in Safe Mode? What were the recent changes to the system (hardware and software)? Have you tested the memory lately? How much RAM do you have? You could also try TinyResMeter and see what it reports.

Re: Computer Freezes on desktop

Figured it out. I had to un-install Incredimail. Plus there was a worm/virus that was associated with that program so when it was executed, it would freeze
