I have developed a minor nuisance, which developed, literally, over night for no apparent reason.
Every time I open up an internet link that is 'not' on my desktop, but in quick launch or a file, I get one of the following messages:

[Massage]:
Windows cannot accesss the specified device, path, or file. You may not have the appropriate permissions to access the item.

Or...

[Heading of alert box]:
http://www. ' ' .com/

[Message]:
Windows cannot find 'http://www. ' ' .com/'. You may have typed in the name incorrectly in the Run dialog. or another opened program cannot find a system file. To search for a file, etc... [edited]

First message above happens from 'quick launch'.
The second message happens from 'My Documents' -> any folder -> link.

Web page still opens up anyway, as if nothing happened.

Does anyone have a clue?

OS: Windows Me, using Aston's shell replacement for Windows, found @ www.astonshell.com, theme: AstonXP (problem persist regardless of which window shell used);

Browser: Mozilla 1.6
