Problems setting up Outlook Express on Windows 98

Expand Post »
I am trying to set up my Cox email account through my Outlook Express, but so far I haven't been able to get it to work. I go through and set it up and put in the host server names as told, but when I'm done, and I try to check my email for the first time, I get two messages. The first says that the host smpt.east.cox.net could not be found, and to verify that I have entered the server name correctly. The second says the same about POP3...that it could not be found, etc. I put in the server names that it said to on the cox website, and followed the instructions, but it just doesn't want to work. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks.

Those servers do exist- are you sure you're entering the names correctly? In your post you did mis-spell "smtp"; make sure you haven't done that in your server setup as well.
