Windows Explorer - Problems where it displays all the folders

Expand Post »
Ok, sometimes when I'm in windows explorer for whatever reason, this randomly happens:
On the left side, under "My Computer", everything disappears, and is replaced by around 10 blank folders (see screenshot)...
I'm using windows 98se... It happened on my really old computer (same OS though) too.
Does anyone know what might be causing this?

Did you try checking for spyware or viruses yet?

In case you're not aware, this post is actually more than half a year old...

Anyway, yeah, that's one of the first things I've tried, but, this doesn't matter anymore because I switched to Windows XP in like, September...
