Computer won't boot off XP cd

Expand Post »
I am reformatting my computer, and I'm following the instructions that are stickied to this forum, at the beginning it tells me to insert my Windows XP CD, then shut off my computer, and turn it back on, and choose to boot off of the CD. It doesn't do anything when I turn it on, even if I press f12, it goes to safe mode boot options.

I'm guessing I have to go to BIOS>BOOT>BOOT DEVICE PRIORITY, and choose the drive I want to boot off so I can boot off the CD. Am I correct?

And if this is correct, do I go and switch it back to the order it was in after I finish the reformat?

I'm just looking for a quick answer, thanks a bunch!

Re: Computer won't boot off XP cd

Yep!

You max even want to wait till after the installation. Take the CD out, when the machine wants to reboot.
