I cannot delete a network printer port?

I cannot remove a network printer port on windows XP. I am logged in as an administrator, I have tried right clicking on any space on printer properties -> server properties -> ports tab and then try and delete a port but it will not let me. Sometime this works and somethime it does not. Can anyone explain why? Is there a way to force XP to delete using command line?

The easiest way to do this is to go to your command prompt and typ the following:

> net stop spooler

>net start spooler

After each one of the commands are complete, go back to your printer/fax settings. Select File, Server Properties, ports and delete the server port. This should work.
