Unwanted Shares won't go away

Expand Post »
Hiya,
For a while now I've been trying to secure win2k through a reference from this website. However I use 2 users, one for use on the internet and the other is for administrative purposes and I am currently applying all the security "hardening" through the admin. However some things just won't stay saved. For example the standard shares don't want to be disabled, I can do it, but on restart they're back again.

I use p2p software and am running all the recent updates from windows.

Now my question is, is it because of the p2p software that the shares stay online or do I have to go somewhere else for removal?

Thanx in advance,

Re: Unwanted Shares won't go away

the only way to remove certain "hidden" shares is to remove file and print sharing from network properties (the window where you set ip adresses and add prtocols)
