Hi annelise, it's unfortunate that you had to spend money getting your system cleaned as we could have helped you do that yourself for free.
It is very unlikely that if you reinstall Windows the problem would persist. Hopefully you won't need to do that though. Do as Dark_Omen suggested and post your hijackthis log in theSecurity forum. Before you do that though, make sure you have version 1.98.2; if not, you can update it from the Update feature within hijackthis, or from here:

Also, make sure HJT is not running from a temporary folder or from your desktop, it should be in it's own folder similiar to this: c:\hjt\hijackthis.exe
P.S. Before you purchase anything, ask for opinons here; there most likely will be a free alternative, or possibly better options.
