i would like to know if win/2k will run on the same hard drive with partions
i have a program that will not run on xp

Yes it will ,you could do a dual boot ,have you tried compatiability mode in winxp ,just right click on the setup of the program and choose compatiability and choose win98 or 2k and install the program or install the program and right clik the startmenu/desktop icon and choose compatiability .
