What is this icon?

Expand Post »
Hi everyone,

I started my pc today only to find a yellow triangle with a black exclamation point in it on the icon tray. My PC seems to be running well and when I try to click on the icon it disappears. It will stay in the tray for a minute or two, disappear, and then it comes back again. Do I have a Virus? I am running a spyware scan right now and it said one of the files was corrupt. Could this have something to do with it? How can I fix this? Please help!! Thank you so much!

Re: What is this icon?

Sounds like the low virtual memory notification. Kill as many unnecessary processes as you can and see if it goes away. You may need to clean up the programs that start automatically as well.

Re: What is this icon?

Most icons will identify themselves if you hover briefly over them.
This sounds like a network error to me.

Hi all,

It turned out to be a Virus, which I was able to fix on my own. Thanks for the info and advice!
