Can't Play Games...But everything else is running fine

Expand Post »
I have just recently bought a computer..... m2n-sli motherboard....AMD
athlon 64 X2 dual core 5600+ 2.92 ghz, 2gb ram, NVIDIA GeForce 8500 GT 512 mb.
I was able to play a few games the first night i had the computer going (Rappelz, and some CounterStrike 1.6). Recently i will start a game and about 5min, if im lucky, the game will stop working and the moniter will go black, or white, and then my system will restart itself or i will have to manually restart it. I have tried updating drivers but the problem still persists. My OS is winXP service pack 2. Anyhelp would be great

Re: Can't Play Games...But everything else is running fine

Try doing a BIOS update for the motherboard.

I also wonder though if it could be a power or heat issue, so.

What size Power Supply?
With what other peripherals?
Do you have heat monitoring turned on in BIOS?
How good is ventilation in case and is case in an enclosed space?
