critical error

Expand Post »
Recently I picked up some kind of malware or something and it's been annoying me to no end. Everytime I click on a folder a Critical Error pops up that says the following:

Critical Error
Attention, {username}! Some dangerous viruses detected in your system. Microsoft Windows XP files corrupted. This may lead to the destruction of important files in C:\WINDOWS. Download protection software now!

Click OK to download the antispyware. (Recommended)

Yes No

When you click either, my web browser launches and takes me to a web site. It looks similar as if you were to click on 'my computer' and it displays your IP, OS, browser, ect... and you'll get a pop-up asking you to download a files called ie-av.exe from a place called http://ieantivirus.com/download.php

I have scanned with avast and mcafee and even though i cant over come it.
I've scanned with AVG Anti spyware, Spybot S&D, CCleaner, and webroot Spy Sweeper.

When I've used the Webroot Spy Sweeper the following came up:
-ie driver
-trojan-downloader-zlob
-wildmedia
-startnow
-ilookup
-startnow startnow hijack
-wurldmedia
-download plugin
-ipinsight
-hotsearchbar toolbar
-whenu

Here is my HJ This log.

Re: critical error

Run CCleaner to get rid of all the temp files (be sure to change the options>advance setting to delete all temp files, including newer ones than 48 hours). Then reboot into safe mode, and run spybot s&d. You may want to run it twice to make sure you got everything.
