windows update not downloading

running a win 2kpro machine ... can get to windows update site ... can scan for updates ... can review and select updates for download ... i hit install and the download box pops up but never transmits anything ... has worked before ... another pc on the same network will download the updates so it is not a network setting ... i tried with the firewall turned off also .. same results ... i am stumped here ... any advice or ideas is greatly appreciated

i was able to figure it out ... without formatting or reinstalling ... i searched through ms help from update and found that i needed to run these lines in my run box ..

regsvr32 scrrun.dll
regsvr32 vbscript.dll
regsvr32 dispex.dll
regsvr32 msscript.ocx

that took care of it ... just thought i would post my findings incase anyone else ran across the same prob ....
