Win XP SP2 System Restore not working

Expand Post »
When I attempt to open System Restore I get an Error message as follows:

AppName: rundll32.exe AppVer: 5.1.2600.2180 ModName: srrstr.dll
ModVer: 5.1.2600.2180 Offset: 000099b2
---------------
Another thread with an identical problem had the following message:

"However, running the sr.inf:install solved the problem. Had to browse around, a bit, to find the various files it wanted, including some on the WinXP install disk. "

Trying Run sr.inf:install gave an error "The Parameter is Incorrect "

As I understand it, INF files are used for setup info when installing drivers. Can anyone enlighten me on this process please?

Go to C:\WINDOWS\INF\sr.inf and right click it. Select "Install." That usually fixes things with SR
The above is from the link in the other post you mentioned you were at .

The INF folder is a hidden folder !
