windows xp fatal error

hi this is ram

i have a problem whit my windows xp sp2 installation. while installing wiondows in gui mode it shows the error

fatal error:
the critical system information file (syssetup.inf layout) is corrupt or misssing

it shows a log window and close tab down it re starts again

please help me out

Hi, are you installing SP2? Or reinstalling Windows?
If you are installing Windows, then go into Recovery Console and type :

sfc /scannow

and press enter.
