I can't browse with internet explorer

Well.My LAN cable got cut somehow somewhere and I had to change it,taking
4 days.Now,I'm having problems with my browsing.I have checked my settings,browser setting and it looks like they are allright.I can't browse msn.com/msn.co.uk,can't sign in on windows messenger because that's 4.0,can't run the latest msn messenger 6.0 because an error message says that's not a valid win32 application and I can browse other sites ( except msn).I can't check hotmail.Even with other sites,it's working abnormally slow,like,after loading half of the webpage it stops and sometimes I need to hit enter twice.
Also,all the emoctions here in this page and the pictures are marked with 'x' marks - though I have not disabled picture.
What should I do?
I have pinged with my isp and that's okay.
