cant install xp

i ave got a toshiba tecra 8200 and im tying to install windows xp but it wont boot from he cd, the cd works and i have set the bios to boot from cd first but i still wont boot from cd please help

Does it display the message on the blank screen?

if i take the hard drive out yes otherwise it boots from the hard drive

try hitting F9 or whatever and choosing CD

I have to do that on my IBM laptop

its called select boot device. its a seperate menu to the BIOS.

The boot device selection is F12 on my Satellite.

Conflict cdrom and HD. So try changing the jumper of HD. thanx.

its a laptop so they should be correct out of the factory
