Expand Post »
Hi All, I this is an age old problem and is fairly well covered in the forum and I can repair now while standing on my head, but I have system that continualy does it. After I replace the file or files missing the pc will boot fine for maybe 3 or 4 goes then I will get the same error message. I have replaced ram and hdd but still get the same thing. Tried formatting and reinstalling, this last about a week then back comes the message.
Would anybody have a solution to this problem.
Sys specs
Athlon 1800
1Gb memory
256 Ati Radion graphics
250 Gb Seagate HDD
Win Xp Home editon sp2

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

Dave

Hi pcfresh, have you tried using a different CD for set up? please try that and see what happens.

Boot from Windows Xp CD. Then select 'r' for recovery console. Copy system file from c:\windows\repair to C:\windows\system32\config

Then reboot the system
