Userinit.exe

Expand Post »
Hi All,
Just thought that I would share a solution to the old userinit.exe problem. So far this has worked twice for me.
After windows loads to a blank desktop and you get the userinit.exe error use "ctrl, alt, delete" to get the task manager up. Go to file "run(new task)". Type in "explorer.exe", this will get the desktop back to normal. Now you use "system restore" to restore to an earlier time, well before the error started. Once system restore has finished you should be able to start windows normally.
Now go to http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/comb...o-use-combofix download Combofix.exe and run it.
As I said this has worked the past 2 times I have had pc's with this problem.

It would be interesting to hear how others have solved this problem as I had no luck with most of the fixes I have found in various forums.

Regards

Dave
