I am trying to load windows 2000 onto a HP Pavilion XT923. I booted with the windows cd and reformatted the hard drive and loaded the OS. Now that I have done that none of my network adapters will work, not my modem nor my nic. I looked at my drivers and the driver for my NIC is loaded correctly but the driver for the PCI Simple Communication Controller isnt loaded. I cant seem to find it anywhere. try this, pop the driver cd or floppy into the proper drive and go into the device manager and manually update the driver by letting it search thru the cd or floppy. i used to have this prob sometimes with my old modem.
