Installing xp pro on computer w/out sp 2

I installed xp pro on a computer w/out sp2 on it. Do I need to go to windows update and get all the updates before I can install sp2 which I did get their free disc?

no install the sp2 first .it is the updates !!then go to win updates and get any really new ones .
