Cannot defrag because corruption in file

When defragmentation started I got the message "Disk Defragmenter cannot continue prescan because there is corruption in file: D:\Docuuments and setings\USER\WER2664.dir00/". Can anybody suggest how solve this. Thanks, manitm16

Hi,
First try doing a disk check. Open my computer, right click your drive, click properties, click tools tab, dlick check now, click both boxes, click start, at prompt click yes and reboot, allow PC to complete scan and try again to defrag. if no joy try deleting the file first.
