HELP! Faxing with XP

Expand Post »
I am trying to fax using XP - both with the fax console in Accessories>Communication>Fax and from Word by sending to the fax wizard. My problem is, I am on Broadband DSL (allows to use both Internet and Phone at same time) and when I try and send, it says "No Dial Tone or the phone line is in use". I can connect to the 'Net with anything else and I can use my phone while on the 'Net, so why can't the fax modem send this? My ISP tells me it's a XP setting or gliche and Microsoft sent me to Compaq who told me I have to resort to swithing the computer to dial up, which I think is totally wrong and if it's not, this is bogus and needs to be fixed to allow DSL faxing. Would installing WinFax be a possible solution or would WinFax still not be able to access a phone connection? Your help is much appreciated.
